About PSN, in one paragraph
Police Scanner Network is an independent public safety media organization operating 24 local pages across the United States and Canada. Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, PSN covers police, fire and EMS activity at the market level, verifying every report against an official source before publication. It is not affiliated with any law enforcement agency.
What we can speak to
If you are reporting on any of the following, we are happy to talk on the record:
Police radio encryption
The shift to encrypted public safety radio and what it means for public oversight. We operate in several markets that have gone fully dark and can speak to the practical effects.
Local news deserts
What happens to public safety information in places that lost their newspaper, and whether social-first local coverage fills that gap or just changes its shape.
Verification at speed
How a small operation verifies breaking public safety information before publishing, and why scanner traffic on its own is not a source.
AI in small newsrooms
Practical use of AI across research, production and analysis in an operation this size — including where we deliberately do not use it.
Current per-market reach figures, audience breakdowns, logo files and editorial background are in the full kit. Tell us what you need and we will send it.
